An embarrassingly difficult run.

7:05 am, 35-40° F, 44% humidity, winds 5 S.

I met up with Michelle for this run. In days of yore, I would have run the 1.5 miles to her house, run with her whatever distance she was going, and then run the 1.5 miles back home, and maybe even more than that. But those days are gone. I drove to her house, ran whatever distance she was running because it was short enough that I could handle it, and then drove home. And the last mile nearly killed me even though it was the slowest mile of the 4. It was up hill pretty much the whole way and I so wanted to stop and walk but I didn't. I did stop at one point to tie my shoe (and paused my watch), but then I ran the rest of the way. Michelle was doing much better than I was. She reminded me that one time when we were running that stretch before and she was struggling I told her to think of the street light at the top of the hill as a magnet that was pulling her forward. So she gave that advice to me today.

I've really got to get back into shape. At least I made it out for a run 4 times this week. If I can keep that up for a few weeks, maybe I'll be on the road to getting back.

AP: 10:01. 9:59, 9:52, 9:55, 10:18.

I just commented on my weekly mileage to my son, and he thinks I should go run 0.03 miles, but I'm fine with the lack of a whole number.

Way to get out there this week. It won't take you long to get back into full swing. You're doing great! Keep it up.

I'm horrible, I always like to round the numbers out! Great job hitting the road and getting more consistent, you ARE on the road back!

Great job on 4 days this week CinC ... you will be right back in no time. It won't take nearly as long as the first time a few years ago.

Good job, Carolyn! That Michelle--she gives good advice. And I'm with Bonnie. You'll feel good about running again soon!

Hi C, I'm just getting back into the swing of things here. Took quite a bit of time off from running. Just ease back into it...
