It was even colder this morning than yesterday, at least at the start of my run. But it is warming up faster today than yesterday.

I went onto a paved trail that goes through a green belt very near my house less than a half mile into my run and I saw a group of four animals. I think they were coyotes. It made me nervous, but I kept running and they didn't bother me. I guess they are after the rabbits that are all over the neighborhood, not the people.

My legs felt tired and heavy this morning and it was easy for me to go slow. A couple of weeks ago when I started trying to run slower I had to force myself to do it. Now it's easier for me to go slow and feels more natural. I feel like I'm becoming a slower runner and I'm losing the ability to run as fast as I used to run.

Here are today's stats:

Average pace: 11:10

Splits: 11:56, 11:22, 11:20, 10:57, 10:31

Saucony Omni 6: 25.48

Wow, you and I had the same run this morning, complete with wildlife sitings! :) I forgot a couple of things on my list when I responded to your comment about pre-dawn running on my blog: relective vest and a little red flashy light that clips onto a back pocket (got it at a race expo for a buck). Have a great day!
