Rest day. I've already run as many days and slightly more miles this week than I did all of last week, and I've got a half-marathon yet to go this week, so I decided to rest today. I slept in.

I drained my blister last night. It feels better now. I hope that was the right thing to do.

I have just a little bit of pain behind my left knee.

I would have done weights today since I'm not running, but I'm afraid if I do, I'll injur myself somehow. My body seems to be conspiring against me to avoid this race.

Yes, don't do weights this close to a race. I think stopping weights a good two weeks prior to a race is good.

Then again, after my last episode with weights I want to stop lifting altogether.

Sounds like a good idea to take a rest day today. You'll be rarin' to go come Saturday!

I know what you mean about the body conspiring to avoid the race. It seems to happen to a lot of runners. Then come race day all the pains and concerns go away and the race takes over.

You've got great fitness. You may surprise yourself with your performance Saturday!

Perfect decision to rest today, Carolyn! My body always tried to fall apart just before a race too! I was in that place last week, wondering if I could stay together long enough.

Your training is inspiring, you are super strong, and I can't wait to hear about your successful race!

GOOD LUCK this weekend!!!

I always drain my blisters, I think you are supposed to!
