Easy easy run.

6:25 am, 70° F, 46% humidity, wind 5 SSE.

I was really hurting after Tuesday's run. It turned out that it was my left hip and left knee. I felt a little something in the knee last week, but I had been ignoring it. I rested on Wednesday and Thursday if you can call working overtime resting. I decided giving running a try this morning. I don't want to get into a habit of not running. I felt okay, if a little stiff. There's still some weakness in the knee and hip, but I was okay today.

AP: 9:31. Splits: 10:02, 9:29, 9:23, 9:22, 9:22.

Take care of those leggies. When was you last "down" cycle? Are you in need of some low easy miles??

From Bonnie on Fri, Jul 02, 2010 at 10:23:30 from 64.119.33.134

ouch. I hope the easy day today loosened things up a bit and that you will feel all normal again soon. Sometimes your body just tells you to give it a rest.

CiC: do you feel you should have eased in slower after the marathon?

From calliej on Fri, Jul 02, 2010 at 10:53:52 from 97.126.143.251

Sorry to hear about your leg. hope things loosen up for you. :)

I was beginning to worry! Glad you were able to get out after enjoying a little rest. Hopefully that does the trick--you'll figure it out!

From RAD on Fri, Jul 02, 2010 at 11:11:54 from 67.172.229.125

Stink, stink stink! I certainly hope you can figure out what is wrong and get it fixed soon. You are such a strong and dedicated runner, it's tough to see you have to take down time for an injury.

Hey! I was worried about you. Sorry about the boo boo; take care of it. Downtime is tough.

From JD on Fri, Jul 02, 2010 at 12:12:04 from 70.96.78.157

Downtime can also be a healthy break. Have a great weekend.

Take is easy on yourself, you will be happy you did in the long run of things!

It's good to hear your leg/hip is getting better. Nice job listening to your body!

From CookieLegs on Sat, Jul 03, 2010 at 00:18:17 from 71.35.208.122

I sure hope your hip/glutes/knee feels better pronto. Were you running on pavement Tuesday? Perhaps road camber is agravating it? Oh, I wouldn't call overtime resting :) More like stressing :(

Break are good when you are hurting!

From The Quiet Pirate on Sun, Jul 04, 2010 at 00:51:56 from 65.191.108.72

Hey Carolyn. Glad you got a little run in. Hope your daughter's baptism was wonderful today!

Hopefully after the stress of this week-end is over and you get some rest, you'll be back running without any soreness or pain.

Happy 4th of July :-)

From Kelli on Sun, Jul 04, 2010 at 13:43:25 from 71.219.99.30

I am glad that you took some running time off for the ouchie, too bad you could not get some working time off in there, too!

Take care of the knee, hope it is back to perfect for Monday.
