Easy run.

7:21 am, 37° F, 71% humidity, winds calm.

Ten days. It has been ten days since I last ran. Look what I have been reduced to. I feel like I'm starting over. The test will be to see whether I can pull myself together and build back up over the coming months.

I'm still kind of sick, but last night was the first night I was able to sleep without codeine cough syrup.

My kids are on fall break this week so I'm able to sleep in a bit and run a little later. But I still have to get myself to work, at least today. I need to try to take a couple of days off from work this week if I can manage it. Things are still really busy at work.

I think you'll be surprised how quickly your fitness returns. It's still in there, you just have to give it a few days to release.

Glad you are feeling a little better. Continue to take care of yourself, get some sleep, and run far. You can do it.

It's good to see that you are feeling better. I'm sure you will get your fitness back quickly. But make sure you take it easy and get fully recovered.

Let it go and don't worry one second about it. Nothing wrong with a break! My greatest wish for you is that you really enjoy the running that you do, and that it is a source of renewal rather than something that drains you more. Happy running!

I've with Jun - recover well and you'll surprise yourself! Get well soon and I hope it all lets up and gives you a well earned break soon!

Glad you're back! You're a strong runner and I know you'll be making progress quickly. Just be sure & take time for yourself :-)

Welcome back! You've put in a lot of miles this year (your weekly avg is still over 40 miles a week, even with the break), that's a pretty strong mileage base with which to build on.

You are not "reduced" to anything, Carolyn! Enjoy it. The fitness does come back quickly, especially for a runner as strong as you are!

You will be fine once you are at 100%
