Easy run. Average pace: 9:55.

Weather: 62° F, 60% humidity, no significant wind, sunny.

I was supposed to do 8 easy plus hill sprints today, but I'm thoroughly sick of hills. I think last Saturday's 5K pushed me over the edge of my hill tolerance. And it's not like I didn't run plenty of hills during the 8 miles this morning. I had 700 ft. of elevation gain over the course of the run (and also 700 ft. of elevation loss because it was a loop). I've tentatively moved today's hill sprints to Friday. Tomorrow's workout isn't as hard as yesterday's was.

See Lori, I sometimes cut back from the planned workout.

Nice run today... OK sometimes you do cut back, but not very often. You are an incredibly strong and determined runner.

I recently read an article about 'easy runs' and how important they are. Sometimes, while training, we forget that we need to take it easy from time to time. You did the right thing and your body will repay you for it by being stronger next time you want to push it. Way to go today.

You ran twice as far as me today...glad to see you going easy once in awhile.

I'm sure you've satisfied the daily minimum requirement for "hills" this month already!

Sounds like you made the right choice in your workout, Carolyn! I am sooo jealous of your "easy" miles - see my blog.
