Very slow easy run + 10 x 10 sec. hill sprints + level 3 shred.

5:04 am, 39°F, 26% humidity, wind 6 SSE.

I ran really slowly this morning. I didn't realize while I was running that I was going so slowly. Oh well. It was supposed to be an easy day anyway. I did the hill sprints since I skipped them on Monday.

I was up too late again last night. I had a Relief Society thing until about 9:00 and then I stayed up watching The Biggest Loser. I probably should have just gone to bed and saved TBL for tonight, but tonight I have to go to an orchestra festival at the middle school. It seems like I've got something every night this week, I just can't quite remember what's on Thursday.

AP: 10:14. Splits: 10:18, 10:04, 10:06, 9:55, 9:55, 9:54. Pace on hill sprints: 7:11, 6:44, 7:22, 6:56, 7:16, 7:10, 7:34, 6:35, 7:18, 6:58. It's weird how on those hill sprints I alternate between a slightly faster pace and a slightly slower pace. I don't do it intentionally.

I tried to compose haiku in my head while I was running. Maybe that's why I ran so slowly.

Auntie Em writes poems
I want to write one too
How is my first one?

Let me try another.

Up too late last night
Dark to bed and dark to rise
Sleep is short and sweet

OK. That's enough bad haiku for now.

Nice Haikus. I couldn't write one if my life depended on it. I just don't get them.

You run and live well

Others dream while you pursue

Mind and body smile

It's hard to do.

It's probably good to tak it easy every now and then. It seems to me that you have been even busier lately! But you always seem to get it all done... you are amazing!

Nice Haikus... I'm not even going to try :)

From Carolyn in Colorado on Wed, Jan 13, 2010 at 12:14:42 from 198.241.174.15

Lori, I so don't get it all done. If you came to my house you would see all of the things that aren't getting done.

Nevels, sure.

Now I have new things to do while I run, compose poetry! That will be so much better then the math I usually do!

Have a good day Carolyn!

Nice Haiku. I am impressed that you always wake up to run even with very little sleep. I hope you remember what is Thursday night before you miss it!

Don't write much Haiku

It takes too much time and skill

I prefer doughnuts.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Wed, Jan 13, 2010 at 18:31:20 from 24.8.167.243

Good one, JD. I prefer doughnuts too.

From auntieem on Wed, Jan 13, 2010 at 20:04:54 from 24.17.177.218

Love the Haiku craze! I don't think it makes you slower, Carolyn!

I have always "thought" haikus, and for some weird reason started writing them down in the New Year. But I didn't know that it was a choice between doughnuts and haiku....

Great Haiku!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Biggest Loser. I love to watch people find their inner strength. I always seem to cry - especially when they ran the marathon. If the fat man can do it, so can I! Great workout!

From Kelli on Thu, Jan 14, 2010 at 09:49:37 from 71.219.89.82

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Biggest Loser, too, and I cry every episode. EVERY TIME!!! It just gets me, this people work out so darn hard and they fight demons for sure. Last season I SOBBED, literally, every time the lady who lost her entire family in a car accident spoke. What an amazing woman she was, and so strong and determined!
