Easy Run - 7 miles + 4 x 8 sec hill sprints

6:45 am, 40° F, 87% humidity, winds calm, overcast with a light mist.

I got to bed before 10:00 last night, but I couldn't get to sleep until around 1:00 because of all the drainage in my nasal passages. It was hard for me to get up and get out the door this morning, but I did it.

I thought about leaving my glasses at home, but then I decided to wear them. With the light mist that was in the air, they quickly became covered with water droplets. So instead of being blind, I saw the world with spots this morning. And I failed to see a big puddle that I stepped in.

Strangely, the air kind of smelled like fish.

Incidentally, my arms are little sore from yesterday's double dose of Jillian.

The pace felt pretty easy today except on the uphills. It was a little harder on the uphills, but I didn't push it too much. I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at my stats afterwards to see how fast I had run.

AP: 9:37. Splits: 10:05, 9:46, 9:32, 9:19, 9:22, 9:24, 9:19. Pace on hill sprints: 6:51, 6:26, 6:47, 6:53.

Breathing in fishy air when you're running is pretty awesome.

What happened to the splits for your last two miles?

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 12:26:17 from 71.229.134.155

Good catch, Tracy. I neglected to type in all of my splits. They are there now.

From Tracy on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 12:31:20 from 209.175.177.37

I know you love your data!

Your pace has come down a lot in the last month! Isn't it nice to know that you can bounce back like that?

From Burt on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 12:56:07 from 206.19.214.144

Jillian.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 12:58:39 from 71.229.134.155

You have a problem with Jillian, Burt?

From Burt on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 13:02:26 from 206.19.214.144

Carolyn, by now you should know that I have the BIGGEST crush on Jillian. Sorry Tracy.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 13:04:36 from 71.229.134.155

I did not know that. My bad.

From The Quiet Pirate on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 13:58:51 from 152.26.59.252

Your miles this week are adding up, and I'm noticing your pace speeding up too.

I can't believe you did 2 shred videos in one morning...THAT is tough!!

Congrats on winning the battle of the bed this morning. It's a tough game to play.

From Tracy on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:09:18 from 209.175.177.37

How dare you, Burt. You're so fickle.

And how can you be crushing on her? She never smiles. You'd never know if she appreciated your jokes.

From Burt on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:11:18 from 206.19.214.144

That mean scowl and icy stare is what does it for me. Yes Ms. Jillian. Anything you say Ms. Jillian.

From Burt on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:11:26 from 206.19.214.144

Anything.

From Tracy on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:16:02 from 209.175.177.37

When did funny Burt become creepy Burt?

From Tracy on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:16:32 from 209.175.177.37

Or maybe pervy-old-man Burt would be more apt.

From Burt on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:21:39 from 206.19.214.144

There's nothing funnier than a creepy old man. Just look at David Letterman.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:22:45 from 71.229.134.155

Did any of you watch Biggest Loser last Tuesday? Jillian clearly LOVES Hannah.

From Tracy on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:27:42 from 209.175.177.37

You and I must differ on our definitions of pervy old men. Pervy old men are not appealing to anyone in any age bracket except the pervy old man age bracket.

From Tracy on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:28:17 from 209.175.177.37

Glad you fixed that typo Carolyn. I was silently judging you.

From Tracy on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:29:23 from 209.175.177.37

I was going to come up with a better example for the pervy old man...but I should probably get to work. No more comments from me today. Unless I get bored.

From Burt on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:34:14 from 206.19.214.144

The inadequacy of my Biggest Loser knowledge is showing.

From auntieem on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 14:34:16 from 67.182.149.104

Now I need to see Jillian! I really do.

I don't know if I could have persevered through fishy smell and misty glasses, Carolyn. You are so motivated.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 15:08:35 from 71.229.134.155

Tracy, my sons are sticklers for the proper use of adverbs. I had to fix the typo.

From Tracy on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 15:19:17 from 209.175.177.37

I know I said I wasn't going to comment again. I wasn't silently judging you, but I was silently applauding the fix. I can tell you were an English major.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, May 19, 2011 at 15:56:30 from 198.241.217.15

Guilty as charged.
