On the treadmill, mostly at 10:00 pace, but some of it a little slower and some of it a little faster.

Oh the weather outside is frightful. It was -9°F this morning, so I opted for the treadmill. I thought it would be foolhardy to run outside for an hour.

I spent some time yesterday downloading a couple of audio books from the local library's website and putting them on my mp3 player. I started listening to The Good Earth this morning. I remember hearing my mom mention the book when I was a kid and I've never read it, so I thought I'd give it a try. Listening to the book helped to pass the time on the treadmill, but I was still watching the clock and waiting for it to be over. Once it got light outside it was kind of fun to see the houses across the street all covered in snow with smoke coming out of all of the chimney pipe things. I'm sure there weren't real fires in the houses, just exhaust from the furnaces, but it looked kind of cool.

I didn't want my elementary school kids to stand at the bus stop too long, so I was going to keep them in the house a little longer than normal and send them to the bus stop just in time. But we cut it too close and they missed the bus so I had to drive them to school. I guess I better send them out a couple of minutes earlier tomorrow.

Smart call on the treadmill! Man, it's horribly cold!!!! BRRRRRRrrrrr! Bummer about the school bus, though. ;o)

It's so cold that I figured it's a great day to do Christmas baking. Warming up the kitchen with baking sounds great when you're looking at a NEGATIVE thermostat.

I don't think reading would help me run on the treadmill. I need something to keep my EYES busy - and off the clock. Do you have a mini DVD player? My sister uses that - although I can see that taking a TV to work might look a little suspicious (hee, hee). Good running!!!!

Christmas baking! Wow! really don't do that, though I did make a pumpkin pie the other day just because I wanted one, and I made rice crispy treats for the choir yesterday (actually made them on Saturday and took them to choir practice yesterday - that's how I get people to come to choir.)

I do have a little mini DVD player with a screen and it folds up really small and I would have no problem bringing it in to work. But I'm afraid that it would bounce too much if I set it on the treadmill. I don't really have any way to set it in front of the treadmill or hook it to the t.v. that hangs from the ceiling. Maybe I can figure something out if I have to do a long run on the treadmill one of these days. I'm thinking I might be on the treadmill all this week.

I cannot even imagine how cold that would feel. I was covered with self-generated frost this morning and we're only at 17. Wow.
