Tempo run - 2 miles warmup, 4 miles at faster pace, 1 mile cool down

Average pace: 9:29

Splits: 10:57, 10:49, 9:34, 8:38, 8:22, 7:55, 10:12

Outside temp: 45°F

I had a hard time getting going very fast on the third mile because it was almost all uphill. Miles 4-6, by contrast, were more downhill than uphill.

I got a little stitch in my side just before the end of the 6th mile. Does that mean I exceeded my lactate threshold or something like that? The stitch was gone by the end of the 7th mile.

I managed to get my daughter's costume finished last night. Now I've just got to carve pumpkins tonight.

Hey! I did a tempo run too. And same kind of weather. I appreciated your comments about weight on my blog, but I didn't want to reply there for fear of offending the opposite point of view. ;) I lost quite a bit of weight too many years ago. Good for you.

Re side stitch, I only get them occasionally from not warming up slowly enough or long enough. But it could have just been that you were challenging the diaphragm muscles with that workout and they will get stronger.

I just watched a dvd from the library that I think you would like, with all the things you juggle in your life. It was the PBS version of Julie Morgenstern's "Time Management from the Inside Out." See if your library can get it for you. Have a great day.

Thanks for the dvd recommendation. I just checked online and my local library has it. I requested a hold on it even though they have it on the shelf. That way the'll find it for me and I can just go pick it up from the hold shelf. That will save me time over having to find it in on its regular shelf in the library. How's that for time management?
