Tempo run. 3 miles warm up, 5 miles @ 1/2M - 10K pace, 2 miles cool down.

5:14 am, 30°F, 53% humidity, winds calm.

I wore double gloves this morning and got too warm a little ways into the tempo portion, so I took one pair of gloves off and put them in my jacket pockets. At one point, one of them fell out. They're not expensive gloves, but still, it's a pain to lose a glove. I may drive around a little later and see if I can find it.

AP: 9:03. Splits: 10:29, 10:30, 10:09, 8:06, 8:29, 8:10, 7:53, 7:57, 9:22, 9:22.

Incidentally, I took a 2-hour nap yesterday afternoon, which I desperately needed, but it made it a little bit hard to fall asleep last night.

Here's today's haiku, which I composed while running this morning:

Increase your cadence
Relax your neck and shoulders
Run you tall puppet

Nice Haiku, it made me laugh. I hope you can find your glove. I love how warm it feels this morning.

Boo on the gloves. I hope you find it!

On Tuesday I ran into the problem that I thought 25 degrees was warm, so I didn't wear enough to start out (only one set of gloves). I'd rather have your problem, even if you did lose a glove!

Nice pace on the tempo portion!

WOW, you are a poet!!! Nice one, I like it.

The weather was nice today for winter. I, too, got a little too warm at points but I will take that over freezing my tush off!

Have a nice day!

After I dropped of my daughter at the school bus stop, I drove over some of the route I ran this morning and I found my glove!

From Metcalf Running on Thu, Jan 14, 2010 at 11:12:30 from 207.225.192.66

Yahoooo!!! It's great that you found your glove! Love the haiku! Oh ya and nice run today :)

I think its funny that we'll drive around looking for a silly glove instead of just getting a new one. I would spend hours looking for something like that. I had my gloves and I'm still too lazy to go buy new ones.

From Kelli on Thu, Jan 14, 2010 at 13:44:48 from 71.219.89.82

Mine cost a buck at Wal Mart, so I would have left it. Wait, I am a cheapskate, i would have gone back to look for it!!

Glad you found it. Hope the rest of the day goes as well.

From Nan Kennard on Thu, Jan 14, 2010 at 14:55:11 from 174.51.250.151

Glad you found your glove. Its definitely cheaper for me to spend a few minutes finding a lost glove than buy a new one. Even if they are only a buck I always spend more money just going into Wal Mart or Target because I see things I think I need.

Glad you found the glove. I love the 'tall puppet' imagery. It helps me keep my form better than anything elese.

Nice tempo run.

I was going to make my standard "It is better to have had glove and lost it, than to never have had glove at all" joke. But then you found your glove. Oh well, it's an old joke anyway.

Thom speaking: You compose haiku?!

From Kelli on Thu, Jan 14, 2010 at 18:57:06 from 71.219.89.82

Nan, that is a very good point!!!!

From auntieem on Thu, Jan 14, 2010 at 20:07:03 from 24.17.177.218

Carolyn! Nice haiku! This is quite fun isn't it?

It would be great if we could run together; I had a tempo run today also, at about the same pace. Although my pace was perfect, due to the treadmill.
