Tired and worn down
My knees a little achy
So no run today

OK, so I lied. Really I just changed my mind.

12:35 pm, 52°F, 28% humidity, wind 6 E, beautiful, glorious sunshine!

I decided to take my pasty white hairy legs out in the sunshine wearing shorts and no socks. I was thinking of doing an easy 4 this afternoon (and I mean easy) and I thought it was a nice day for the VFFs. It was probably a little foolish since I've only run in the VFFs twice before the furthest run was 1 mile, I decided do do the whole 4 miles in the VFFs, thinking they would force me to employ a running form that was easier on my knees. It was harder on my calves, as I expected. The left one is feeling just a little tight. I'm going to go roll it.

I was slow. I guess I didn't speed up my cadence enough to compensate for the drastic reduction in the length of my stride from what I do in shoes.

AP: 10:08. Splits (HR in parentheses): 9:58 (132), 10:09 (142), 10:02 (140), 10:22 (139)

Also, this morning I did P90X yoga with the incomparable Michelle and another friend that we're trying to recruit to our Saturday running group.

I...I...I...don't know what to say! Carolyn not running? Has the sky fallen?? You are SO amazing and pushing so hard all the time I'm glad you took a day to yourself! Sleep, eat, enjoy and I know you'll be back at it tomorrow! Don't let those knees get any more achy!!

(sorry to all for messing up the pattern...I'm not a woman of few words :) )

I'm not as clever

As others all seem to be

I'm breaking the trend

Actually like RAD, I can't say everything in three short lines. Very impressive Haikus everyone! I am glad you got so sleep in Carolyn! Extra sleep is always good for an energy boost. Thanks for doing yoga with me this morning.

Good job on the haiku, everyone. Michelle, you thought you couldn't do it, but you did!

BTW, I couldn't do it. Not run that is. It's just such a beautiful day.

Wow, you are so brave!

Four miles in your five fingers.

Now go nurse your calves.

From Mark on Sat, Jan 16, 2010 at 13:00:44 from 173.168.88.68

You just couldn't do it!

I guess you just needed to run. Hopefully no one saw your legs, lol.
