Easy run.

5:19 am, 34°F, 47% humidity, wind 9 S.

I got out the door late this morning because I had to iron a shirt for my husband first. He usually does his own ironing, but he needed some help this morning. Then I had to stop midway through my run to give him some encouragement via cell phone. All this, combined with having to wait at some lights, resulting in my getting back later from my run than I would like to. I was afraid this would result in Thing 3 oversleeping because he's not very good about setting his alarm, or hearing it when it does go off, and I often have to wake him up when I get in from my run, so I called Thing 1 when I had about 2 miles to go and asked him to make sure that Thing 3 was up (Thing 2 was already gone to seminary). Now the hot water is all gone from the bathing of Things 1 and 3 and so I'm writing my blog entry and maybe I'll go eat breakfast while I wait for some hot water.

It was no easier to get up today than yesterday, even though I got to bed earlier last night.

BUT you got up and that is what counts! I hope you got some hot water for that shower!!! I liked that I was first in the shower today.

Have a good day!

I dread the day when I have three kids old enough to take separate showers every morning. I love the fact that I can just chuck my two youngest in the bathtub each night at the same time. There may not be anything worse on this earth then running out of hot water in the shower. It is the domestic form of 'water-boarding'.

My delay worked. I had a hot shower. My daughter is complaining that the mirror is all steamed up.

You must have a better water heater than I do! We have this issue on Sundays and it take about 2-3 hours to get more hot water. We definitely need a bigger water heater for our family of 7, that our someone needs to move out!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 10:45:53 from 24.8.167.243

I guess I should be grateful that at least one major appliance in my house is working and hasn't broken down recently.

We've got 6 in my house, but I expect one to move out this year.

Glad you got a hot shower. We ran out of hot water last Sunday and I had to take a cold shower, it was not enjoyable. Sounds like you have already had a busy morning, I hope you have a good day!

Congrats on your miles. That's a long way to run when you're tired, and you've got other things going on.

I feel your pain with the wake-up today not being any easier. Maybe tomorrow, huh?

And no fair that your weather is warmer than mine :-)

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 11:29:41 from 24.8.167.243

Oh, just wait, QP. We're supposed to be really cold on Thursday and Friday mornings.

From Snoqualmie on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 11:29:50 from 24.18.192.33

Can you spare that .03 so I can have an even number today? lol J/K Great run. You've got such nice splits.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 11:31:14 from 24.8.167.243

Sure, I'll give you that .03. It's funny that that's the exact amount that you need.

Great job on NOT hibernating this morning, Carolyn. I also got up, in spite of my threat to sleep until spring. Not as bold as you though, I did my bike workout indoors, and will save outdoors for the evening.

Very nice run today, Carolyn! You are stronger than ever.

From JD on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 13:09:13 from 70.96.78.157

Nice ten spot for a Tuesday.

The first thing I do when I get up is run the hot water for a half minute or so and that gets the hot water heater going. To get a hot shower every morning requires strategy, strong will and determination. Good job!

My cooperating teacher was telling me how she stopped exercising after she had children...which got me to thinking how people with children fit it in! NOw I see how!

From The Quiet Pirate on Wed, Jan 06, 2010 at 10:02:28 from 24.199.205.252

Okay, what's up with your weather? I saw that Wed morning it was 40 degrees at 5:30 am, but by 7:30 am, it was 28 degrees. You're cooling off fast! Is there snow coming with your chill?

From Carolyn in Colorado on Wed, Jan 06, 2010 at 10:12:46 from 24.8.167.243

Yeah, a cold front is coming in and maybe some light snow.
