Easy run.

5:48 am, 41° F, 27% humidity, wind 9 SSW.

I was supposed to meet Lindsay this morning. We don't normally run together on Wednesdays, but I called her last night and talked her into it so that I would be motivated to get out the door this morning. I got to her house at 6:00 as planned and waited five minutes and knocked on the door three times, then I left and ran by myself. This is the first time Lindsay has failed to appear for a planned run. I don't mind running by myself, so mission accomplished. The planned meeting got me out the door.

Whatever it takes eh?

Sometimes that works to our advantage. At least WE were out, then you feel uber good that you were the amazing one that actually got out and got it done while others slept! Great run Carolyn!

Nice job getting your run in and not throwing in the towel when Lindsey didn't make the meeting.

Glad to see that you are out and running and with friends who are still asleep, even!! I do not know how you do it so early and in the cold, I have become such a wimp.

Happy New Year Carolyn! It's the year for the great comeback (that's what I keep telling myself).

Did your son make it home from UNC for the holidays?

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sat, Jan 01, 2011 at 20:24:52 from 71.229.134.155

Yep, QP. He's been home for 3 weeks and has one more week to go until we take him back to campus.

Is it different having him home now than it was last Christmas? I'm pretty sure that I'm not ready for my thing #1 to go to college, although some days I think it can't come soon enough. Kids are a mixed can of emotional nuts!!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sun, Jan 02, 2011 at 00:17:14 from 71.229.134.155

The main difference about having him home now is that we've given his room away to his brother, so now he sleeps in a spare bed in his other brother's room and leaves his stuff all over the place. Wait. He left his stuff all over the place before.

I guess it's pretty much the same. I had gotten used to setting only 5 places for dinner, though, and these days I have to set 6.
