Easy run. Average pace: 9:23.

Weather: 50° F, 74% humidity, wind 3 ESE, partly cloudy.

I got up earlier today because I need to be on time to work for a change. I was out the door for my run just after 5:30. I ran my normal 10 mile route in reverse. I think it's harder this way. Of course the total elevation gain and loss is the same. However, I think the uphills going this direction are more gradual but longer than the uphills going the same direction. So what is a long distance of a gentle downhill going the other direction becomes a long climb going this direction, while the steeper but shorter uphills of the other direction and brief downhills going this direction. That's why I like the other direction better and do it so much more. I should do the direction I did today more often because it's more of a challenge. Splits were 10:13, 9:49, 9:39, 9:39, 9:01, 8:56, 8:58, 9:14, 9:08, 9:12. I guess those last three miles are hard going either direction because they're normally my first three miles and they're always my slowest miles when they're the first three.

I think I've got everything I need for work tomorrow all ready to go so that I can leave it there today and run to work tomorrow.

Running to work -- that is so cool!!!

I love the idea of the running commute. I would love to do it at some point, but I really need to prep. It is almost 11 miles to work, which would mean 22 for the entire day. I'll do it eventually, but not while the weather is getting hotter. Kudos to you for doing it, that is for sure.

I love to run to work! I've left a change of clothes and a towel in a file cabinet at work, just in case.

I have a trail run that I like, three miles long. I run it once clockwise, then do it in reverse. It makes it a totally different run! The hills on the second lap are steeper and shorter. I really like that its short, so I do it twice and get both kinds of hills in one day. I can't get splits there, since its so full of switchbacks Garmin doesn't work well.

My commute is only about 4-4.5 miles, so running it is possible. I'm actually going to take an out of the way route on the way here tomorrow so that I get 6 miles and I'll do hill sprints on the hills behind my office once I get here, but I'll take the most direct route possible on the way home. That's my plan anyway.

being on time to work is overrated (unless you want to keep your job!)

Nice work, yet again!

Nice work Carolyn, its funny how reversing a regular route makes everything seem harder. I have a couple of those and I like one way and hate the opposite! Funny how the grade of hills can do that to you.

You are so dedicated and tough...I'm not sure I'd run to work if I could, well I guess some mornings I run into the kids room when it sounds like they fell out of bed :)

I live about 9 miles from work, and have considered running it but I can't figure out a route that doesn't include scary traffic situations. I'm starting to wonder if I'm just being wimpy about traffic. Lot's of folks here on the blog seem to run in all kinds of situations.

Another 10 miler today!
