Easy run. Average pace: 9:53.

Weather: 62° F, 65% humidity, wind 7-8 SW.

I still haven't recovered the zip in my step. I had a hard time getting a good pace going this morning, maybe because I was going into a moderate wind for roughly the first half of my run. Splits were 10:29, 10:03, 10:11, 9;58, 10:17, 9:46, 9:29, 9:38, 9:30, 9:27.

I'm wondering if I'm really going to be up to the ADT marathon on Labor Day. I'm not registered for it yet and it's a small enough race that I don't think I need to register far in advance. I am registered for the Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon on August 8. I guess I'll see how I do and how I feel in that race and then decide whether to do the ADT Marathon.

Oh, I think you'll be ready for it. Your fitness level isn't far below marathon readiness, as is. A little extra focus over the next couple of months and you'll definitely be ready for another marathon, possibly even a new PR.

Good solid 10 mile run! I'm a little jealous of the 62 degree weather, nice. I think you'll be ready by Labor Day for another marathon.

Good idea to throw another 1/2 in there. Your runs look great, and its normal to have times when you just don't have any zip. Just run it out, you'll be ready for your marathon.

I'm signing up for one on Aug. 1 myself, to try again to run one asthma free before I sign up for a marathon in September. There are two local ones to choose from.

At first, my mind read, "ADD Marathon." That's the one where they have extra course marshalls to remind the runners to stay on the course and keep running?

Hope you figure it out. Maybe you just need more rest. Easier easy days and harder hard days?

Nice 10 miler today.

Good plan to run the half in August and then determine about the marathon.

Nice way to start out the week! I can't believe you're starting out with double digits - ROCKIN'!!! I'm with you on 'see how the 1/2 goes' - you'll be able to tell by your long run mileage and how your pace/recovery is from the 1/2 if the marathon will be a good one!

I just looked up the registration info for the ADT marathon and it will cost me $10 more to register if I wait until after the Georgetown 1/2. That's not a huge amount, but if my confidence increases by the end of July, I'll go ahead and register before the price goes up.

I think you will be fine! It is far enough away that you have plenty of time to get ready and train. But you have to do what feels right for you!
