Easy run + Shred level 1.

54° F, 96% humidity, winds calm, overcast.

It was good to get out for a run in the nice cool weather this morning. I think we're back to heat tomorrow.

I saw a rabbit taking off down the road this morning and then I realized why when I saw the neighborhood fox just a little ways away. The fox wasn't chasing the rabbit though. The fox kind of looked at me and then wandered away.

I decided I need to get back into doing the Shred two or three times/week. I've been neglecting strength training for several months now and that probably accounts to some extent for my little aches and pains. Also, I tried to focus on keeping my pelvis level rather than tipped forward during my run this morning. I think that will help the alignment of my hips and knees.

I like the shred. Hopefully the strength training will make a difference in your ailments.

I think this fox must live in or near the neighborhood because I see it (assuming it's the same one) roughly once/month.

Nice run... it's neat that you have a neighborhood fox, I guess as long as he dosen't do any bad things.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Wed, Jul 07, 2010 at 10:26:54 from 24.8.167.243

We don't have any chickens in the neighborhood, just rabbits, so the fox isn't too much trouble. But something has been getting into my garbage cans. I don't think it's the fox. I think it's raccoons, though I haven't spotted one for a couple of years. They're more sneaky.

I think that strength training is so important to avoiding injury and maintaining good form and pace. I don't do nearly enough of it and certainly pay the price. I admire you for your dedication to start up again.

I think you are right about the strength training, Carolyn. I usually find that I have neglected the basics (in my case hips and core) when something hurts.

Hope all goes well...runnersworld has an article this month(online) that talks about hip exercises.

Way to keep the consistency going, have fun with the strength training. Wildlife sightings always make my day!

You are such a well rounded runner! Way to get back to the core/strength!
