Easy run with 8 x 8 sec. hill sprints. Average pace: 9:34.

Weather: 47°F, 87% humidity, wind 7 ESE, sunny. This is the first morning all week that it has been sunny.

I still have a little tightness in my right calf. I used the stick on it a lot last night. It felt tight during the run, but I wouldn't really call it pain. I tried to focus more on doing the midfoot strike properly with my left foot. I think my left foot has been a little lazy and has been making the right food do more work.

My Garmin was being stupid last night. I mapped out a 15 mile route for Saturday and I wanted upload it to my Garmin, but I got an error saying it couldn't accept any more routes. So I deleted old routes out of  Training Center and tried to delete old routes off of my Garmin, and whenever I tried to delete a route off of the Garmin, the thing would lock up and I'd have to do a reset and the route wouldn't be deleted. Stupid thing.

In any case, I turned off auto laps yesterday and forgot to turn it back on, so I don't have mile splits for the easy miles today. I do have paces for the hill sprints because I hit the lap button manually for those. They are 7:26, 6:34, 7:20, 5:52, 5:54, 7:03, 6:03, 6:20. I don't know why I was so inconsistent this morning.

I think somaetimes when things go wrong ie garmin acting up it throws other things off. This morning my fuel belt was annoying me and I felt all off...good miles today!

Do you live near Englewood? I am going to be in Denver on the 29th and 30th of this month. If you are close maybe we should think about an early run on the morning of the 30th.

And heres a question: the map function on the garmin application is really vague and I can't seem to sync my garmin up with garminconnect (it won't load recent activity). How do you create proper courses?

Jun,

Yes, I live near Englewood. PM me the specific location where you're going to be (either office you're visiting or hotel). We can certainly do an early morning run on the 30th.

I tried to connect to Garmin Connect for the first time this morning and it didn't work. What I did yesterday is I mapped out a route on mapmyrun.com and then exported it to a .tcx file. I then uploaded it to Training Center (the software that comes with the Garmin) and then tried to synch it with the Garmin from there. That's where it failed.

Genius. I hadn't though of doing that. I'd really like to start getting garminconnect working, but I may need to email technical support.

I use the Training Center for all of my tracking as I pull workouts off of the watch. I need to start utilizing the other functionality more.

I'll PM you details when it gets closer to my trip.

You and the Garmin are going through a rough relationship these days.

Garmins...can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

Yeah, Sno, I don't know whether this relationship will last or whether I'll have to dump my Garmin and get a new one.

Jun, I'm going to be on a cruise and will be totally offline the week before you come to Colorado, so don't be surprised if I don't respond to PMs that week. However, I'll be back home on the 28th.

Aha! I've been wondering about how everyone gets the nifty mile splits. Auto lap. I'll have to try that. I'm Garmin slow, a little bit of new information at a time. Gotta take today off, if I can manage it, but will try that feature tomorrow! Nice splits, btw.

Wow. Cruises, treks, 5Ks - it sounds like you are going to have a busy summer!!

Nice work Carolyn! And look at those hills in the 5's!!! WOW!! You've now taken back the title Queen of the Hills :)

Have an awesome time on your cruise, and don't work out too much - hahahaha, I laugh, because on my cruise dh told me "you don't NEED to go to the gym EVERY day!" We're crazy, and love it!
