GA run.

6:11 am, 70° F, 35% humidity, wind 4 S.

I'm calling this a General Aerobic (GA) run because it was 8 miles. I can't quite bring myself to call 8 miles easy. In my mind, the difference between an easy run and a GA run is that the GA run is a little longer and/or a little faster. I think that about 6 miles is my limit for an easy run.

I ran the MacArthur Ranch Road loop today, which I haven't done in quite a while. There were some nice sprinklers along MacArthur Ranch Road and I didn't even have to go out of my way to run through them.

I saw Barbie near the end of my run. I was behind her, so I tried to be sneaky and take a picture of her with my cell phone, but it didn't work out. I'm not very good with my cell phone camera. I couldn't really see what I was doing and I ended up just taking pictures of the ground. Also, my camera was set to make a shutter noise, and so I couldn't get too close. I have since turned off the shutter sound, so if I get another opportunity to take a picture of her, I will try again.

Nice run! Better luck on using your camera next run. :)

What kind of crazy world is this that even 6 miles is an easy run??? Did you ever think you would say that???

Nice job, it was a little warm for you this morning. Was it muggy? Are you guys getting any afternoon rain like we are?

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 10:18:56 from 24.8.167.243

Afternoon thunderstorms are very common in Denver in the Summer. It looks like there's about a 20% chance today, so we'll see if it happens.

Nice miles today. My own definition of an easy run is based more on pace than distance. However, I think no matter how slow, I couldn't label anything over 12 miles as "easy".

Does Barbie wear velvet?

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 10:49:35 from 24.8.167.243

Well, I don't know what Barbie wears all the time, but she had on little shorts and a tube top today.

From Barb on Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 13:45:38 from 75.40.21.107

oh I'm still laughing with trying to get a photo of Barbie. Games runners play! I was wondering who 'Barbie' might have been....maybe a little deer in some forest some where, but I'm guessing after further comments that she's not :-)

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 14:34:52 from 198.241.174.15

It's a woman who I'm assuming lives near me (I don't know exactly where) who walks in the mornings and who looks like a Barbie doll. She's out in the mornings with full makeup and big poofy blond hair and she's very very thin.

From Burt on Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 14:50:44 from 206.19.214.144

If you need help taking pictures of people I'm pretty good at it.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 15:00:16 from 198.241.174.15

Oh, I shudder to thing what you'll do, Burt, if I do manage to get a picture of her and post it.

I have to be sneaky about it. I can't exactly walk up to her and ask if I can take her picture because I call her Barbie and write about her on my blog sometimes.

From RAD on Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 15:12:35 from 67.172.229.125

Nice run Carolyn! I feel the same way about more than 6 miles.

I have to laugh about Barbie! I can imagine driving by and watching you try to take a picture; however, I'd be doing the same thing :)

Just pretend like you are the Paparazzi!

From The Quiet Pirate on Tue, Jul 27, 2010 at 21:25:18 from 65.191.108.72

I like you Carolyn. I like that you tried taking pictures of Barbie to share with us.

I saw a dead snake today. I thought about taking a picture of him to share with y'all too. It's easier to take pictures of dead snakes than Barbies. Good luck with the ninja camera skills.

Your miles and pace are impressive today.

It is funny the things that amuse us runners! Tub top says it all!
