Progression Run. 10 miles  w/ last 20 min. moderate. Average pace: 8:57.

7:32 am, 55-63°, 57% humidity, winds calm.

Another Saturday morning spent pounding the dirt on the Highline Canal Trail, but all by myself this time. The other regulars from the group called me last night and said that they couldn't make it today. But in other news, I've talked them into running the Canyonlands Half Marathon next March, if we can get in.

I slept on a recliner in my living room last night to avoid the noise and the germs that are in my bed. I slept better than I thought I would, so that was nice. I'll probably slept there again tonight. My poor husband is not feeling well at all.

My splits today were 9:47, 9:18, 9:17, 9:16, 9:13, 9:17, 9:03, 9:07 (0.55 miles), and then 20 minutes (2.53 miles) at 7:54 pace.

I'm thinking about those of you who are racing today. I'll check in later for race reports.

Good run. I'm thinking Canyonlands looks good. Does it fill up quickly?

Smart move sleeping on the recliner, glad it's comfortable for you. Hope your husband get well soon. I often sleep on the couch due to spousal snoring!

JD, it's not so much a matter of it filling up quickly. It's that there's a lottery. The registration for the lottery is sometime in November and lasts for only a couple of weeks, if I remember right.

I have always thought that Canyonlands one sounds fun! Its my favorite part of the country for climate and scenery. Maybe I'll enter the lottery this year.

FUN!!! you are SO strong... why are you a broken record???

Where is the CAnyonlands 1/2??

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sat, Aug 29, 2009 at 13:42:37 from 24.8.167.243

I'm a broken record because I just do the same things over and over again, including my runs, and it's not very exciting.

The Canyonlands 1/2 is in Moab.

Autieem, you should register for it! It would be so fun if you could come run it and we could meet up!

You should register for it too, Marion.

I am going to this year. My good buddy is from Moab and we just call it the Moab 1/2 :) Wanna share a hotel room?

From marion on Sat, Aug 29, 2009 at 13:54:37 from 71.213.124.121

Oh- and you are not a broken record. You are just a really good record, worth playing over and over again! :D

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sat, Aug 29, 2009 at 16:08:58 from 24.8.167.243

Marion, right now I've got two hotel rooms reserved, with room for 8 people total. If the whole group from my ward along with friends goes, that'll be 6 of us, so we'll have room for 2 more people. It's not for sure that they'll all go because one of them is trying to get pregnant, and if she doesn't go, her friend won't either. Let's wait and see how things work out and maybe we can get together on hotel rooms. And maybe Auntieem will want to come stay with us too!

Carolyn, I hope your husband gets feeling better soon, and I hope no one else in the family catches it.

I would really love to run The Canyonlands 1/2 it's a great 1/2. I was talking to Sue after the race today telling her we should try to do it.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Sat, Aug 29, 2009 at 19:21:24 from 24.8.167.243

Yeah, Lori. Remember that we first met at Canyonlands last year.

From Kelli on Sun, Aug 30, 2009 at 15:28:30 from 71.219.64.200

Sorry about the germs, I hope you avoid them!

Nice run today! And i hope you get in to the Moab race, too. I HAVE to do that one again to redeem myself, it was HARD!

Have a good weekend.

From RAD on Sun, Aug 30, 2009 at 16:09:20 from 76.27.12.70

Great run Carolyn! It always seems so much harder alone, but you hit some nice paces there! Keep me up with the Moab 1/2 lottery time, I'd love to tag along too!
