Progression Run. 2 miles easy, 6 miles moderate, 2 miles easy. Average pace: 9:06.

Weather: 57° F, 51% humidity, wind 2-5 ENE.

I didn't feel great this morning. I think I'm going to revise my training plan and put my doubles on hard workout days so that I don't lose my easy days. I'm glad I have an easy day tomorrow. Splits were 10:15, 9:46, 9:10, 8:57, 9:13*, 8:35, 8:32, 8:10, 9:06, 9:12.

* This mile was hard. I was going due south and up hill. While the weather info I got from MotionBased says that the wind was 2-5 mph ENE, that data is from the regional airport, which is quite a ways from here. I swear I was going straight into a strong wind on that mile.

Speaking of MotionBased and weather info, MotionBased seems to be pushing people to switch to GarminConnect. I'm happy to use GarminConnect, except the main thing I get from MotionBased that I can't get anywhere else is the weather info and I don't see any weather info in GarminConnect. Does anyone else use GarminConnect and have any thoughts about it?

I ran through quite a few sprinklers this morning. Some I could not reasonably avoid and others I chose not to avoid. I guess that's a by product of running early in the morning.

I love sprinklers on a hot run!!!

Great job and have fun on that nice and easy run tomorrow.

I know nothing about GarminConnect, sorry.

Too bad the sprinklers are never on later in the mornings (on long runs) when we could use some cooling! Your doubles plan sounds good. If I were going to do doubles I'd add a second easy run on a hard day.

I was thinking about you this morning because you seem to be able to string solid workout days together that range between 8 - 11 miles. I was thinking that I want to get to the point that I can do three 10+ mile days in a row. But with as much as I've been racing I just don't have the time to have solid workout weeks. I've either been recovering or tapering. Maybe after my King's run on the 2nd I can get back to a normal workout schedule. You are an inspiration.

Can't help you with any of your weather stuff. I get my weather info by sticking my head out a window LOL

Nice run today, you are really racking up the miles!

With all the rain we've been getting here lately...who needs sprinklers?

Hey, who's the mileage junkie now?

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 12:07:38 from 198.241.217.15

JD, we've gotten a lot of rain in the last month and my sprinklers are off since they're still broken. But now we're drying out and my sprinkler guy can't come until the 30th. Actually, he could come next week, but we won't be here.

I use garmin connect...I havne't really explored it but I'm fairly certain there isn't a weather thing. Actually I had gone to motion base when you had mentioned it one week and it said it was goign to eventually become garmin connect so I didn't bother to sign up.

that said--I get my weather from my yahoo widget. It stays on my desk top all day and tells the humidity, windchill, temp, wind speed..etc...

Those are great mile paces! Want to run together sometime?

I use Garmin Connect, and there is no weather info, but I can't imagine collecting the detailed data you do anyway! LOL. I'm just not that organized, though I do often notice if its raining.

I would love to run with you auntieem. Do you want to come to Colorado and run the ADT marathon with me on Labor Day? It's mostly on a packed dirt trail. Or you could come do the 1/2, but I'm tentatively planning on the full.

From Tracy on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 13:51:00 from 71.201.129.114

For weather, I find that the weather channel gives me the weather info that I need.

Another good run! I hate it when the wind feels much stronger than it actually is. But that wind is making you stronger!

From auntieem on Thu, Jun 18, 2009 at 15:45:02 from 67.182.145.8

I looked at ADT. It does look fun. But first I have to get off of the fence here and decide if I'm really running a marathon or just training for one. The most likely marathon for me is either Portland (10/4) or Bellingham (9/27). I think I need to wait because I'm so uncertain about the training at this point, whether its working and all. Probably decide after the R&R on 6/27.
