Progression Run. 8 miles w/ last 20 min. moderate. Average pace: 9:03.

5:05 am, 58°F, 57% humidity, wind 3 SSE.

Busy morning as usual. I got a slightly later start than I should have.

I ran the County Line Road to Quebec route that I first did a couple of weeks ago. Splits were 9:41, 9:29, 9:32, 9:20, 9:41, 8:54 (for 1/2 mile), 20 minutes (2.48 miles) @ 8:04, and then a little bit more (0.12 miles) @ 8:57 to get home.

Shaggy was supposed to walk to seminary today, but he hadn't left yet when I got home, so I drove him. Next time I tell him to walk, I'm going to make him walk, even if I'm home before he leaves. I was a little cross with him this morning, which is probably not a very nice thing to do to my son as he starts the school day. I was a little cross with everyone last night.

I did the shred level 1 after the seminary drop off.

I am jealous you are done for the day, I have not even started (still in jammies and headed off to pack school lunches). You have had a great training run!! I love your temperatures, too, perfect for running!!

When and what is your next race?

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, Aug 27, 2009 at 10:14:48 from 24.8.167.243

I always pack lunches at night for the next day. I don't have time to do it in the morning.

I'm debating whether to run a race called the Park to Park 10 Miler on Labor Day. I'm kind of leaning against it because it costs $60 and I'm not that excited about it. Beyond that, there's a local 5K mid-September, a 5 or 10 mile local trail race in October, and a local half marathon in November. I'm kind of targeting the half marathon, but I might do those other races as well. I'm not looking at another marathon until next Spring.

Oh, and I am by no means done for the day. Done with exercising, I guess, but I've still got to work all day and go to Back-to-School Night tonight.

Home schooling looks more attractive to me with each passing year!

Great, consistent running, and fast pace there the last few miles!

Can't homeschool. Must work and earn money so that we can eat.

From Kelli on Thu, Aug 27, 2009 at 13:25:28 from 71.219.64.200

I would, but I never have enough room in my fridge to fit their lunch boxes!!!

That is a pricey 10k!!!

Not done for the day, I know! I just meant done with your workout. A mom's work is truly never done.

Homeschool??? NO WAY! I would rather pack a lunch and send them out the door then keep them home all day long to kill each other.

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, Aug 27, 2009 at 13:45:28 from 198.241.174.15

It's a 10 miler, not a 10K, but still pricey.

I admire those people who can do a good job of home schooling, but I'm afraid I'm just not cut out for it, nor do I have the time or the money.

I'm having a lousy day. I just spilled my lunch on the floor in the kitchen at work. Do you know how hard it is to clean quinoa off the floor with paper towels?

From JD on Thu, Aug 27, 2009 at 15:27:52 from 64.65.159.206

Sorry about your lunch.

Homeschooling...I forgot, someone has to stay home to teach the kids. Maybe lock them in a room and have them take internet courses all day. :-)

From marion on Thu, Aug 27, 2009 at 15:30:45 from 71.213.121.129

Quinoa would be HORRIBLE to clean up... worse than rice :p

I am sorry about the downer mood :( I'd make him walk too. You are a GOOD mom :)

From Kelli on Thu, Aug 27, 2009 at 17:38:29 from 71.219.64.200

I would have just pushed it under a table and hoped no one would notice!!

That is pricey for a 10 miler. The half marathon that I am running Saturday is only 30 bucks (45 the week of).

Hope your day is going better!!! At lunch I smacked Smooth on the head with a tray and Teena spilled a glass of water on her, so Smooth is having a bad day, too!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Thu, Aug 27, 2009 at 17:57:44 from 198.241.174.15

There are no tables. It's just a little kitchenette with a sink, a coffe machine, and a microwave.

Poor Smooth. At least I didn't get smacked on the head. Yet.

Great job on your run...and you know your son didn't leave b/c he knew you would drive him right? LOL
