Short easy run.

5:47 am, 25°F, 35% humidity, wind 3 SSW.

I had a fair amount of pain in me knee the rest of the day Saturday after my 10 mile run. The knee felt somewhat better, but not pain free, on Sunday. So I decided to just do a short run today in order to determine whether the problem on Saturday was that I ran too long or that I ran at all.

I had a couple of little twinges in the knee that just lasted for a second during my run this morning. Since then, my knee is feeling about like it did on Sunday, but I'll just have to see how the rest of the day goes. I think another visit to the ART guy might be called for this week.

I'm glad your knee is not feeling worse after your run. Hopefully it gets better soon. I think it is good you didn't do hill sprints.

What exactly does the ART guy do? Just curious.

Keep playing it smart. I hope that the light run doesn't make it feel like it did on Saturday!

Tracy, ART is kind of like a deep tissue massage combined with specific movements that the patient does. For example, I'll lie on my stomach and then bend one leg up at the knee and then I lower the leg, straightening the knee, as the provider massages the calf muscle.

You can find more information here: http://www.activerelease.com/what_patients.asp

Good luck with knee and take care of it! Not that you aren't, you are definitely one of the smartest runners around. I hope the ART guy takes care of things for you again!

I hope your knee continues to improve so you can get on track for your official training.

That ART sounds familiar - my massage therapist does a lot of that. I do find it very effective. Sorry the knee is not 100% yet.

Looks like you're going about things the right way. Your knee thanks you! I hope it feels good this evening, and continues to improve this week.
