I found out on Saturday that a woman named Lindsay, who just moved into my ward, runs some. Actually, she called it jogging, but maybe that's because she usually pushes a jogging stroller when she runs. I tried to find out her typical pace from her but she would only time me that she usually ran for a half hour or 45 minutes, but wouldn't say her distance or pace. I offered to meet up with her for a run this morning, but I didn't know what I was in for. Her house is about a mile away from mine, but I ran 1.9 miles to get there. I hit the lap button at that point because I wanted to track my pace with her separately from my pace alone. She started out a little faster than I expected, but then we slowed down. We ran through neighborhoods and through Cheese Ranch Park, which is not my usual route. We crossed paths with Michelle in Cheese Ranch Park, so that was nice. It was good to see Michelle out running.

We got back to Linday's house and had been gone for a little less than a half hour, and she wanted to run a little more, so she ran with me almost all the way to my house (taking the one mile route) and then we parted ways and I ran the rest of the way home, about .2 miles, by myself. I didn't hit the lap button for that.

It's exciting to get another runner in the area. Maybe we can get our Saturday morning group going again.

I was at the library on Saturday and they had a display about the history of the county that we live in. Apparently there used to be a cattle ranch/dairy farm on that property and they were famous for their cheese. That's why the area is now called Cheese Ranch Park.

It's great you have someone else to run with that's local. My assistant scout master is a good runner. We get to run together about once a week and its really great. He is just starting to get into trail running and has loved the time we've been able to run together and the trails we've been on.

lol...cheese ranch park :) I always told Craig that the name of my subdivision/street would determine whether or not I bought a home there! Then, we built a home on Sharlie Dawn Circle - wow, welcome to rural Utah! :)

Nice run! Those jogging strollers really do slow you down - did she have one with her this morning as well? Looks like you're getting a running club out there!

Yay for a new running friend!

In Bountiful where I grew up we had Cheese Park. The playground equipment looked like a big chunk of swiss cheese that we could crawl through. Awesome. We also had mushroom park which was a mushroom with a latter up the middle and slides coming off the top. Gotta love food-themed parks.

She didn't have the stroller this morning. It was early enough that her husband was still home. They have a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old and they take them both in strollers and run together.

Cheese Ranch Park doesn't have a playground. It's more of a historic site. I believe it's where Michelle (michellem on the blog) has her garden.
