Ten days. It has been ten days since I last ran. Look what I have been reduced to. I feel like I'm starting over. The test will be to see whether I can pull myself together and build back up over the coming months.

I'm still kind of sick, but last night was the first night I was able to sleep without codeine cough syrup.

My kids are on fall break this week so I'm able to sleep in a bit and run a little later. But I still have to get myself to work, at least today. I need to try to take a couple of days off from work this week if I can manage it. Things are still really busy at work.

I didn't run yesterday because I'm not quite ready for 6 days/week yet. I'm shooting for 4 days this week. Two down, two to go.

I took the day off from work yesterday and just hung out with my kids and goofed off all day. My 8-year-old daughter has recently become interested in Harry Potter and so we're reading the books together. We finished the first one over the weekend and we're about half way through the second one now. My 16-year-old son seems to always manage to be in the room when we're reading. He's read all of the books already (as have I0, but seems to be enjoying listening anyway (as am I).

I've got to work today. Oh well.

Easy run.

6:05 am, 46° F, 67% humidity, calm, dark.

It's Friday, so that meant another run with Lindsay. And that's 3 days down, one to go for the week. I guess that means I'll have to run tomorrow.

My daughter chickened out of Harry Potter 2/3 the way through the second book. She is easily frightened. But now I'm carrying on on my own. I'm several chapters into the 4th book now.

I'm driving up to Greeley this afternoon to bring my son down so that he can vote during early voting this evening. He didn't get his application for a mail-in ballot in in time, and we can't get him here on election day.

*This should have been an easy run based on the pace. However, it didn't really feel easy. I ran the 6-mile route that I used to run all the time, but this is the first time I've run the whole thing in quite a while. I think they put more hills in there since then. It was a lot harder for me than it used to be. Perhaps I shouldn't have made the only two days out of the whole week that I ran consecutively my longest runs of the week.

At least I managed to run 4 times this week. Now if I can just managed to do it for the next couple of weeks, then maybe I'll move up to 5 days/week.
