Easy run.

7:02 am, 57° F, 46% humidity, winds calm

I had a project at work that I needed to have finished by Tuesday (tomorrow) morning, so I worked 11 straight hours on Saturday to finish it so that I wouldn't have to work today. Because of that, I didn't run on Saturday. But I did run this morning. I was able to go an hour later than usual on account of the holiday. I met up with Lindsay and we ran 4 miles together, and then I did the rest by myself. Unfortunately, my Garmin died mid-run, so I don't have stats other than an estimated total time and an estimated total distance, thus an estimated average pace, which I figure to be 9:17.

We took all our kids up to Greeley today to see older brother's dorm room and campus. It was a nice trip. Now we're home and tired. We took a long walk around campus and my left knee was really hurting by the end, so I'll have to see whether I feel like running on it (or running at all) tomorrow.

Easy run.

5:49 am, 60° F, 57% humidity, wind 5 S.

I worked about11 hours on Tuesday, but only 8 hours yesterday, so I decided to try to run this morning. I need to get myself back up to running more days of the week. In order to do that, I'm going with really low mileage at least some days. Hence, the 3 miles today. I just got to get back in the habit of getting out the door. Also, my knee felt a little funky. It didn't hurt exactly, but I could feel it. Actually, it's just below the knee on the outside. In any case, short mileage is probably safer for me right now.

Looky here. I ran two days in a row. I hate to admit that it has been quite a while since I've done that. Of course it helps that I have a standing appointment with Lindsay on Friday mornings. I haven't been missing Friday mornings. However, it was mightily difficult to get up this morning. I was up late last night trying to catch up on the laundry.

Progression run.

8:19 am, 54-58° F, 12% humidity, winds calm. That's pretty low humidity, don't you think?

I couldn't get anyone to meet me for a run this morning, so I slept in and then went and ran on the Highline Canal all by myself. I didn't have any plan other than to run 6 or 7 miles. And of course, despite my slacking of late, if I'm ever trying to decide between two distances, I almost always choose the longer distance. Not that 7 is long. Anyway, I just started running and after 2 or 3 miles I realized that I was speeding up and so I decided to turn it into a progression run. My plan from that point on was to not get slower, though I did run the 4th mile one second slower than the 3rd mile. I'll call it a progression run anyway. I really struggled to keep up the pace the last mile and when I stopped I felt like I was going to throw up. It took me a long time to get my breathing back to normal.

The trail was pretty crowded. There were a whole bunch of high school cross country runners on the trail. I did pass a lot of people during the 2nd half of my run.

And hey, I ran three days in a row. I had an easier week at work this week than I did the previous week. I don't know how it will go next week.
